After taking Hyoscyamine for several days (for diarrhea), I am now experiencing moderate pain in both breasts, as well as vaginal tenderness. Are these possible side effects? If so, how long will it take for them to go away? ## Below is a list of side effects associated with this medication. urinary tract irritation-navy blue capsule ## I need some information about this drug..I was given samples today for a urinary problem... ## What else is on the capsule, letters and/or numbers? ## I was able to find this capsule. It is called UTA or Urinary Tract Antiseptic. It has Hyoscyamine 0.12mg, Methenamine 120mg, Methylene Blue 10mg, Phenyl Salicylate 36 mg, and Sodium Phosphate 40.8mg. Lots of ingredients huh? Anyway...it does several things. It serves as an antibiotic for infection, has a component of pain medication in it, consists of a muscle relaxer to relax the bladder muscles and regulates urine flow. Common side effects may include: blurred vision, throat pain, eye pain and dizziness. The only way, however, to know if it may help your condition is to actually try it. Hyoscyamine is most commonly given to help treat and relieve the symptoms of certain gastro-intestinal disorders, such as: Peptic Ulcers, IBS and Pancreatitis. I took one tablet of Hyoscyamine last night. I didn't sleep so well. Does it work after a few days or longer? ## Possible side effects while using Hyoscyamine is difficulty sleeping. Other possible side effects are bloating, blurred vision, dizziness, constipation, drowsiness, dry mouth, excitability, headaches, nausea, nervousness, weakness, and enlarged pupils. I am not sure how long it can take before the drug works for you, everyone is different. For more of a specific answer I would contact your healthcare provider that prescribed you Hyoscyamine.
